It’s easy to become these things in your head, but everything gets messed up when you try to make your dreams happen. Why?
That’s because you only focused on the destination and forgot to include the things you need to get there.
To Get Somewhere, You Must Know How to Get There
To get somewhere, you must know how to get there. If you want to become a millionaire, you must first know how to make money. To become a rock star, you should have the songs that people would want to listen to. To be an authority in a niche, you must understand the niche from the inside out.
Some of the things that you want to do don’t need to have a hardcore plan, of course, like planning your next meal. But if you’re serious about becoming what you want to be, you need some serious planning to do to get there.
Persistence also Counts
It’s not enough that you have a plan. You must also persist. You can’t expect to become a millionaire overnight if you’re starting from scratch unless you use illegal means to do it. Nobody becomes a rock star overnight. You must have a following first. To be an authority, you must begin as a newbie and learn the ropes.
To find yourself on the top, you must have the persistence to climb. To get the things you really want, you must be prepared to sacrifice a lot of your time to get there.
Enjoy the Ride
It’s great to know the HOW and be persistent to get what you want. But if there’s one thing you must not forget, that would be to enjoy the journey, enjoy what you’re doing. Paul Gilbert, for example, isn’t just a technically-gifted guitarist, but you can also see how much he enjoys what he’s doing.
The exact formula for success differs from person to person, but if you want to be successful, you can be sure that knowing the HOW, having the persistence, and enjoying what you do would be a part of your journey.
