Thanksgiving Day Post: What Are You Thankful For?
Written by Cedric Solidon on November 26th, 2008 at 10:45 AM
I come from a country that doesn’t celebrate Thanksgiving Day (I’m from the Philippines). However, since a lot of great things have happened this year, I might as well list them down here. They’re of course related to the work that I do.
1. I’m thankful for learning - more often than not, the hard way - of how it is to work as a real freelancer. How to deal with different clients, how to get the job done right and how to keep myself afloat during lean months.
2. I’m also thankful for the people who helped me keep my head above the water when the going got tough. Without them, I wouldn’t have survived those cold, hungry months (alright I’m exaggerating a bit here. LOL).
3. I’m thankful for the good clients I have and still have. It’s always great to know that there’s a real person behind those e-mails and IMs that you exchange with each other.
How about you, what are you thankful for?

Hi Cedric,
I’m a little late chiming in here, but I’m thankful for: my husband and business partner, who keeps me sane and pulls me in when I want to run with every freaking creative idea I come up with; for my daughter, who has taught me what love really means; for my readers, who amazingly come back for more of my thoughts on marketing and life; for all the people I have met on social media sites like biznik.com and twitter—I truly feel blessed with these new friends.
I love your #1- learning. I am thankful that I learn at least one new thing every day. I don’t think the learning ever ends.
And thanks for the opportunity to show our gratitude.

Hi, Judy. Thanks for the reply. It’s great to have a partner who helps you with your business. Not many couples can boast sharing that kind of bond.
Yes, I am thankful too to the people who matter to me. You got it right, they keep us sane, and those closest to us, love us. Nothing can ever top that.
Thanks for dropping by and I hope you drop by again!
